Role of Wealthier

Wealthier is an app for everyday investing in India that brings mutual funds across categories, New Fund Offers, thematic and international schemes, corporate fixed deposits, loans against mutual funds and goals together in one account. The choice of what to invest in, and how much, always rests with you.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) regulates mutual funds and the intermediaries of the securities market. Wealthier does not provide investment advisory services under the SEBI (Investment Advisers) Regulations, 2013, and content on this website is for general information and education and is not investment advice.

Collections, themes and fund lists in the app help you explore and compare schemes. The documents of each scheme set out its objective, its risks and its costs, so read them before you invest.

The fund cart in the app lets you add several funds and invest in them together, and each investment in the cart is a separate purchase in the scheme you chose.

Mutual fund units are allotted by each fund house in your own name, in your own folio, and are recorded by the registrar of each scheme, so your holdings and statements remain available to you directly from the fund house and the registrar. Wealthier does not manage money on your behalf and does not decide when or where your money is invested.

Questions about a scheme, your units or your statements can be raised at any time with the fund house or with the registrar and transfer agent (RTA) of the scheme. The asset management company of each scheme is responsible for the conduct of its distributors. A complaint about a scheme that the asset management company does not resolve can be lodged against that company on the SEBI Complaints Redress System (SCORES) at scores.sebi.gov.in, and then taken to the Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) portal at smartodr.in.

Commission

Wealthier charges no account fee and earns commission from fund houses on regular plans.

Mutual fund schemes, other than exchange traded funds, generally offer a regular plan and a direct plan. Mutual fund investments through Wealthier are made in regular plans, and the asset management company (AMC) of each scheme pays Wealthier a commission on them.

The commission is paid from the total expense ratio (TER) of the scheme, which is already reflected in its net asset value (NAV), so it is not charged to you separately. The direct plan of the same scheme pays no distributor commission and therefore has a lower expense ratio, and it can be bought directly from the fund house. The factsheet and the scheme information document of each scheme show the expense ratio of each plan.

Commission is paid mainly as trail commission, which is a percentage of the value of your investment for as long as it stays invested, and the rates differ across schemes, categories and fund houses. Scheme wise commission details, including the commission on competing schemes in the same category, are available on request at hello@wealthier.in. For other products, such as corporate fixed deposits and loans against mutual funds, any commission or fee Wealthier receives from the issuer or the lender is also available on request at the same address.

The consolidated account statement you receive shows the commission paid to Wealthier on your investments in each scheme.

Wealthier does not share commission with investors and offers no gift or other inducement to invest in any scheme.

Risk factors

Mutual Fund investments are subject to market risks, read all scheme related documents carefully.

The NAV of a scheme rises and falls with the prices of the securities it holds, so the value of your investment can go down as well as up, and you may get back less than you invested. Past performance may or may not be sustained in future, and returns are not guaranteed. The documents of each scheme include a riskometer that shows its level of risk, and they set out the specific risks of the scheme in full.

Thematic and sectoral schemes

Thematic and sectoral schemes invest in a narrow part of the market and can be more volatile than diversified schemes. Content about themes such as artificial intelligence, space technology and deep technology is for education and does not recommend any security or scheme.

International schemes

International mutual fund schemes carry currency, country and liquidity risks. Some schemes restrict or pause fresh investments when industry wide overseas investment limits are reached, so availability can change at short notice.

Corporate fixed deposits

Corporate fixed deposits with non banking financial companies are not bank deposits and are not covered by deposit insurance from the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC). Repayment depends on the issuer, so check the credit rating of each issuer, with the agency and the date of the rating, before you invest. Premature withdrawal of a deposit is subject to the directions of the Reserve Bank of India and the terms of the issuer, and it can reduce or remove the interest earned.

The Reserve Bank of India does not accept any responsibility or guarantee about the present position as to the financial soundness of the company or for the correctness of any of the statements or representations made or opinions expressed by the company and for repayment of deposits/discharge of liabilities by the company.

Corporate fixed deposits are not exchange traded products and are distributed by Areion Wealthtech Private Limited acting only as a distributor or referral agent, and disputes with respect to this distribution activity do not have access to the investor redressal forum or arbitration mechanism of any stock exchange. A complaint about a deposit with a non banking financial company can be raised with the issuer and, if it is not resolved within 30 days, on the Complaint Management System of the Reserve Bank of India at cms.rbi.org.in.

New Fund Offers

A New Fund Offer is the first offer of units of a new scheme. A new scheme has no past performance, so read its scheme information document and its riskometer before you invest. The offer period of each scheme is set by its fund house, and the fund names, categories and dates shown for New Fund Offers on this website are illustrative.

Loans against mutual funds

Loans against mutual funds are offered by RBI regulated lenders, and Wealthier does not lend. The name of the lender and the role of Wealthier in the loan journey are shown in the app before any application. Approval, the loan amount, the interest rate and the fees are at the lender's discretion and follow its terms. The lender gives you a key fact statement with the annual percentage rate and all fees before you accept a loan.

Pledged mutual fund units remain invested and serve as security for the loan. If their value falls, the lender may ask for more security or sell pledged units, and a lender may also sell pledged units if a loan is not repaid. Rates and fees shown on this website are illustrative. If a complaint about a loan is not resolved by the lender within 30 days, it can be escalated on the Complaint Management System of the Reserve Bank of India at cms.rbi.org.in.

Calculators and illustrations

Calculators and illustrations on this website use assumed rates of return, which are not guaranteed. They show the effect of regular investing and compounding over time, and actual returns may be higher or lower.

App screens on this website show illustrative data and generic fund names, and their figures do not represent any actual portfolio, scheme, fund house or issuer. Fixed deposit rates are illustrative too, because the rate that applies is the one each issuer offers on the day you invest.

Market times are shown for information about global markets. Each time is the current local time in that market, and the open or closed status follows regular session hours, which do not reflect exchange holidays.

Features launching soon

Features marked launching soon are not yet available. Each one will be offered only once the registrations, partners and approvals it needs are in place, and its own terms and disclosures will be shown before you can use it.

Stock baskets

Themed stock baskets will be curated by a SEBI Registered Research Analyst partner, and the name and registration number of the partner will be shown with each basket. Wealthier will not create or recommend these baskets.

Investment in securities market are subject to market risks. Read all the related documents carefully before investing.

Wealthier AI

Responses from Wealthier AI will be generated by an artificial intelligence model and may be inaccurate or incomplete. They will be for information only and will not be investment advice or a recommendation.

Portfolios of renowned investors

Holdings of renowned investors will be compiled from public disclosures. For Indian companies, these are quarterly shareholding pattern filings, which name shareholders holding more than 1%. For US managers, these are Form 13F filings, which cover certain long US positions and are filed up to 45 days after quarter end. The data may be incomplete or out of date, and the date of each disclosure will be shown with it. These investors are not affiliated with Wealthier and have not endorsed Wealthier, and the information will not be a recommendation to buy or sell any security.

US stocks and ETFs

US stocks and exchange traded funds (ETFs) will be offered through a regulated partner under the Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS) of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), which currently allows up to USD 250,000 per resident individual per financial year. Tax collected at source (TCS) may apply above the applicable threshold. Foreign securities carry currency, liquidity, tax and regulatory risks and are not covered by the investor protection or complaint redress mechanisms of SEBI or of Indian stock exchanges.

Bonds and NCDs

Bonds and non convertible debentures (NCDs) will be offered through a SEBI Registered Online Bond Platform Provider partner. Debt securities carry credit, interest rate and liquidity risk, yields are not guaranteed returns, and the offer documents should be read carefully before investing.

Wealth Health Checkup

The Wealth Health Checkup is a free educational tool provided by Areion Wealthtech Private Limited. It scores your finances out of 100 across eight pillars in about three minutes, with no sign up, no Permanent Account Number (PAN) and no exact amounts, and it works even if you have never invested.

Methodology

Each pillar compares your answers with a benchmark that Wealthier has set from widely used personal finance rules of thumb in India, and the weighted results are combined into a score out of 100. These benchmarks are choices made for an educational score, and no regulator has set them. Pillars that do not apply, such as life cover for a household with no dependants, are left out, and the remaining weights are scaled up.

Your age and every amount are chosen from ranges rather than entered as exact figures. Each range is scored at a typical value within it, so the score and the figures in the report are approximations.

  • Emergency Reserves12 points
  • Life Protection12 points
  • Health Protection12 points
  • Debt and Credit12 points
  • Savings Habit12 points
  • Retirement Readiness16 points
  • Portfolio Strength16 points
  • Estate and Tax Readiness8 points
  • Total100 points

Where a critical gap exists, such as the absence of health insurance, the overall score is limited to 69, so that a strong result in one area does not hide a serious risk in another. Gaps in emergency reserves, protection and debt carry extra weight when the suggested next steps are ranked.

Projections rely on the assumptions stated in the methodology, including inflation of 6% a year, a return of 10% a year before retirement and a retirement age of 60. These assumptions are illustrative, actual inflation and returns will differ, and returns are not guaranteed. The full methodology, with each benchmark and its version, is set out on the checkup page.

For education only

The score, the report and the suggested next steps are generated automatically from the ranges you choose and from general personal finance rules of thumb used in India. They do not take into account your complete financial situation, objectives, tax position or risk profile, and they are not investment advice within the meaning of the SEBI (Investment Advisers) Regulations, 2013, or tax, legal or insurance advice.

The score reflects only the answers you give and uses no credit bureau or other outside data. The checkup is designed for resident Indian households and for adults aged 18 and above. Before you act on any part of the report, consider a review with a SEBI registered investment adviser, a qualified tax professional or a licensed insurance intermediary, as appropriate.
